You AND YOUR LYRICS could be FEATURED on the next limited edition Russian Bear bottle.

Two years ago premium vodka brand, Russian Bear and local hip hop artist, Riky Rick joined forces. The collab led to an iconic Limited Edition Russian Bear x Riky Rick bottle featuring the man himself and his freshest lyrics.

Now, it could be you. If you think “I AM NEXT”, write the fieriest lyrics about reaching the next level and not only could you bag yourself a limited edition Russian Bear x Riky Rick bottle, but you could be featured next on the limited edition Russian Bear bottle along with your lyrics.

All you have to do is pen your lyrics on the Russian Bear website, or via Twitter and Instagram using #IamNext and tagging @RussianBearSA before Tuesday, 27 December. The rules are simple: submit one line per entry and enter as many times as you like – keeping your lyrics hip hop fresh but also PG.

Russian Bear will reward 50 fans who penned the best lyrics with the limited edition Russian Bear x Riky Rick bottle, emblazoned with the face and lyrics of Boss Zonke himself. The top three will get to feature in the Russian Bear film series “I AM NEXT” – and one lucky grand prize winner will receive his own bottle design sporting his or her lyrics and likeness.

Dropping names of some of SA's biggest Hip Hop artists, asking the questions as to who really deserves to be in the TOP 10 List. But name dropping isn't what he's all about, it's about putting Cape Town on the map and showcasing the talent that Cape Town has.

So "Fuck the TOP 10 list my number is 021" next month myself and my crew will be going up to Jozi for our "Youth Day Special" and I think I'll be posing the question to some Jozi cats, "Have you heard the name Youngsta?!"

Competition time again with Versatile Lyle and Dr. Dre!

The 2nd prize in The "Versatile Lyle" Chronicles birthday month we giving away an album which got me digging hip hop again all those years ago!

The album I'm referring to is Dr. Dre's second studio album "Chronic 2001"

History:

2001 is the second studio album by American hip hop artist Dr. Dre, released November 16, 1999 on Interscope Records. Recording sessions for the album took place during 1997 to 1999, and production was handled by Dr. Dre, Mel-Man, and Lord Finesse. It is the follow-up to Dr. Dre's debut album The Chronic (1992) and features several guest contributions from rappers such as Snoop Dogg, Kurupt, and Eminem. 2001 exhibits an expansion on his debut's G-funk sound and contains gangsta rap themes such as violence, promiscuity, drug use, street gangs, and crime.

The album debuted at number two on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, selling 516,000 copies in its first week. It produced three singles that attained chart success and has been certified sextuple platinum in sales by the RIAA after sales of six million copies in the United States. Despite mixed criticism toward its gangster-themed lyrics, 2001 received generally positive reviews from most music critics. The album has been credited by music writers with revitalizing the West Coast hip hop scene after years of obscurity, while showing that Dr. Dre could remain prominent with a new generation of listeners.
